A Christmas Message of Hope

Hello Cambridge Alumni, well-wishers, friends, and supporters, although the year 2020 is coming to a close and in its aftermath it is leaving sickness, hunger, pain, unemployment, death, and uncertainty, ours is a Christmas message of FAITH, HEALTH, and OPTIMISM for 2021. The CAAAI organization is built on the principles of belief in an All-Powerful God, unity of purpose, and giving back to others. This Christmas in particular, we remember the legacy of Robert A. Pinkerton who was a man grounded in faith and conviction, and we reach out to our members all over the world in spite of covid and other disparaging situations we are facing, to wish you all a Merry Christmas and a faith-filled New Year.

Our message is a simple one, “God is bigger than covid.” We are encouraging our members to express absolute reliance on His divine wisdom, knowing that He has brought us as individuals and as a group through thick and thin, through trials and tribulations, through economic and financial distress, and planted us firmly on our feet every time; He will not leave us now. We also know that we must abide by the laws of common-sense that require continued wearing of masks, washing and sanitizing our hands frequently, and practicing social-distancing. As Guyanese and Caribbean folks, we are aware that staying indoors and limited gathering restrict the Christmas and New Year festivities normally spent with family, and we may not be able to sample grand-mother’s pepper-pot and ginger beer, nor exchange gifts  around a lighted Christmas tree this year, however, be sure to call, email, zoom, and face time family and friends and reassure them that we will see each other again the next time. That statement of faith and encouragement represents our CAAAI commitment to a better and brighter 2021.

As you know, our Reunion 2020 did not materialize due to the coronavirus pandemic. Our Executive Board faithfully kept every quarterly meeting online during the year and remained loyal to our policies and procedures. We are committed more than ever to reach out to the membership body in 2021 for your ideas, innovation, and insights for the future. CAAAI has been successful because over the years we have embraced each other as family. Caring for and about each other will remain the cornerstone that is responsible for us being one of the best Alumni Associations in North America, and we will continue to grow our membership by opening our hearts and minds to all people this Christmas and throughout the coming new year.
