Condolences to Family of Marva Marilyn McIntosh-Ramsey

The Cambridge Academy Alumni Association International (CAAAI) would like to extend their condolences to family of Marva Marilyn McIntosh-Ramsey. Marva was born in Blankenburg West Coast Demerara, in Guyana. She completed her secondary education at Cambridge Academy. Marva was a teacher at Den Amstel Primary School where she made a positive impact on all of her students. She fell in love with the science of teaching and learning and attended Cyril Potter College from 1976-1978. Upon graduating from college, Marva commenced teaching at Stewartville Primary School until she migrated to the USA in 1981.

In the USA, Marva became a member of the Union Congressional Church in Harlem, New York. At the church, she was a Sunday School Teacher and a Deaconess. Because of her love for students and teaching, Marva attended Rutgers University in Newark, New Jersey. Marva obtained a Bachelor’s and a Master’s in Education from the university. Her final teaching position was at Thurgood Marshall School where she taught English as a second language.

Marva was an ardent supporter of CAAAI, attending all of our functions and fundraisers. Please join us in offering belated condolences Marva’s two sisters, Fay and Dawn, and to all her family and friends.
